Sifting through the slides submitted by nearly 400 artists from around the world, the panel of art professionals choosing this small 18-person show found quality pieces that represent a number of interests. If there is any common thread, it is a tendency among many participants to fragment - an approach that can make an emotional image seem clinical and cool.

In as nod to new technologies, Dawn Samuelson's circular painting is back lit with neon in a way that enhances its organic images - they look like underwater algae and seem to be in continuous motion.
